The Mason City wrestling team begins competition at 9 a.m. this morning at The Clash in Rochester, Minn.

Worth noting: Mason City enters The Clash 8-8 in duals.
Last time at The Clash: This will be Mason City’s second trip to the Clash. The Mohawks went 3-3 in 2011 and Travis Mallo was named to the all-tournament team after finishing 6-0 at 171 pounds. Jared Bartel also went 6-0 in the tournament.
Round 2: Kaz Onoo, Andrew Bartel and Tom Schiffer were each in the lineup as freshman the last time Mason City competed in the clash.
Onoo, now top ranked at 126 pounds in Class 3A, wrestled at 103 pounds, Bartel, ranked seventh at 160 in Class 3A, wrestled at 119 pounds and Schiffer, second ranked in Class 3A at heavyweight, wrestled at 215 pounds.
