Charles City plays Cedar Rapids Xavier tonight at 6 in the Class 4A state volleyball tournament. I'll have updates here.
Looking like this will not start at 6. Pry a little later.
I wouldn't count on anything starting on time. Everything is well behind schedule.
In Game 4 of the match before CC starts.
CC warming up. Will start in about 15 minutes
Here's my Lake Mills preview. The Bulldogs play tomorrow.

LAKE MILLS -- The poster in the back entrance to the Lake Mills gym tells you all need to know.
On it, it says the No. 14. Below that it reads “Thanks for the motivation.”
The No. 14 represents the preseason ranking for a Lake Mills team that had been to at least the state semifinals in each of the past two seasons.
The players would ask coach Jim Boehmer if he felt the ranking was too low.
His players have answered their own question as the season went on about the ranking.
Heading into tonight’s Class 2A state tournament opener against Carroll Kuemper (32-5) at 4:30 p.m., the Bulldogs are one of three teams in the state without a blemish on their record.
At 43-0, Lake Mills is at state for the third straight season and for the second straight year they are taking an undefeated record into state.
“The girls see that poster every day,” Boehmer said. “The thing that’s unique is that we said all along that we thought we were capable of playing with everyone on our schedule. But in the same breath, you are not necessarily thinking you will beat everybody.”
Last year’s run to the state semifinals was almost expected after reaching the state title game in 2010. This year the Bulldogs replaced three starters and haven’t missed a beat.
Lake Mills didn’t play a five-set match until its regional final victory over Aplington-Parkersburg and has lost seven sets all season heading into today’s match.
Lake Mills has been relevant in the North Iowa Conference for some time. The Bulldogs are making their case as a predominant program at the state level now.
“Putting yourself up there and being undefeated is something we take a lot of pride in,” Boehmer said. “They see that our program has made six trips to state. We’ve worked hard to get in the same breath of some of the best programs in the state.”
It’s already been a memorable year on many fronts for Lake Mills.
Aside from riding an undefeated record into today’s match, Boehmer won his 600th match in the Bulldogs’ regional final.
The Bulldogs have three players with 200 or more kills (Megan Johnson, Brook Groe and Kelci Larson) and Carlie Christianson has dished out 515 assists.
It’s a balanced team that has found a different catalyst at many points throughout the season.
Carroll Kuemper enters today’s game riding an eight-match winning streak with its last loss coming to Charles City. Kuemper lost to Charles City 2 games to 1.
Each of Kuemper’s five losses came to state-tournament teams, with four of those five coming to bigger schools.
Brandi Bueltel leads Kuemper with 299 kills.
“We are playing one of the best teams in the state,” Boehmer said. “We know what they are capable of of. We think we have an opportunity to play with them. We know we have a tall task.”
Comets come in with one loss (to Dike-NH).
I've been told Dike is ranked 9th in the country. Not bad for a Class 2A school
Xavier has a sophomore with 380 kills.
Sindlinger with 397 for CC
1 minutes on the clock here. Just about set to go.
Doing intros then we are set to go.
